It's Over, Hipsters

A joke with two punchlines via Frank, who heard it from a 17-year-old on Saint Louis:

How many hipsters does it take to screw in a lightbulb?

Well… it’s an obscure number. You probably wouldn’t know it…

Or

Well, it used to be 8 but now it’s 7; it was much better before.

The backlash is on. I enjoy my Levis 527s and my screen-printed hoodie, but all y’all took it too far. I just hope this doesn’t mean we’re in for a resurgence of Jock Jams.

lol

lol

NEVER!!!!!

NEVER!!!!!

shouldnt it be “well, it

shouldnt it be “well, it used to be 7, but now it’s 8. It was much better before”.

Maybe this means you can continue to wear your chucks with impunity.

Ahahahaha!

YES!

YES YES YES!

Thanks man.

here are tw other versions

here are tw other versions of that joke i’ve heard. what’s worse, the version i heard pinpoints your hood.

how many williamsburg hipsters does it take to change a light bulb.

i don’t know, how many?

oh, you don’t… you don’t know?

or, if you want to short-circuit the joke:

how many hipsters does it take to change a lightbulb?

oh, come on. i heard that joke when it was on vinyl.

yeah

in my defense, I never lived in trendy trendy billzburg, but it’s easy to call it out. that’s a very good one though, “you don’t know, do you?” Really captures the essence of why the whole culture is destined for a fall: any community that embraces obscurity as a point of status has numbered days.
