Reading this today hit home a little too hard for me to leave without commenting.
As silly and pretentious as your ideals and thought processes may sound to some ears (re: an earlier raging comment I skimmed), I can completely relate. Sometimes I wish I had an anonymous blog to unabashedly sound-off my analyzations and internal debates. (I admit it would NOT be as articulate.) Without going into too much detail, relationships are new territory for me. Um yeah, I’m 25. Not even a middle school boyfriend to speak of. A few months ago I met someone, finally threw my overly-picky inclinations to the wind, and have been trying to just “roll with it”. Miraculously, I’ve found that there can be some heart-to-heart even if it’s NOT toe-to-toe, eye-to-eye, or brain-to-brain. Maybe there is more to factor in to “compatibility” than a common background, taste, and IQ. Possibly it’s mutual intention. Or maybe it’s something to do with disposition and how you relate to one another. For instance, you could potentially find someone who challenges you intellectually but it could be a mess when it comes to arguing and compromise. Anyway, until someone comes along that encompasses all (or closer to all?) of the right things, I now realize heart-to-heart comfort and emotional stability alone doesn’t suffice and am admittedly bored. Eeek! I guess we’re all difficult in different ways. Good luck.
Much respect for writing what you feel for all to see. I hope this doesn’t weird-out our future business relationship..!
