As most of you know, I've got two babies coming this summer, one literal, one figurative. My firstborn son and the wine bar. The progress of the Wine Press I've been writing about almost daily, the baby I've been a little more circumspect about. He's as figity as I am, I've felt him kick, punch and hiccup. I even pressed down on Laura's belly one night and felt his little butt. I'm going to be taking a little hiatus from this one for a bit, at least until I sort out what I want to do in terms of merging baby, wife, work, life etc.

Enjoy responsibly folks! Requests for me to blow off work and go to the Dogtown Parade were all turned down. I'm too damned busy opening a bar to drink!

Besides, I already had my share of St. Patty's day fun this past Saturday at the St. Patricks Day Parade Run where I got to hear hear some speeches from sitting Irish MPs. I also got a close-up look at Irish Secret Service: sunglasses, earpiece, green tie and about 40 lbs lighter and meaner looking than our guys.

Today marks one year since Laura and I arrived in St. Louis. We managed to get a $*#()@$*load done in that amount of time. We went from sleeping on my brother's futon to owning our own house. From unemployed to having good (for me great) jobs. From barren to fertilized et cetera et cetera.

Also celebrated this week was Laura and my marraige anniversary. The wedding, of course was in October, but we had our court marraige in Februrary.

And in case you didn't see his inherent maleness by that profile, the circled blob is is pee-pee.

I saw the junk myself! I'll post them to the world soon. We won't announce a name until the big day.

Tomorrow morning we go to find out the sex of the baby. With any luck, tomorrow morning will not be the day the baby decides to hide its genitals with its hands or be bashful and show it's back to the sonogram tech. You can be sure that I'll be calling everyone and postng it here.

As fate would have it, my old buddy from the Dean campaign knocked his wife up one day after me. He's finding out on Wednesday and I'm sure will have it up on his fancy blog
